Surah Al-Lail, ayah 16 · Ayah train · train 16 of 21

All aboard!
Why do people sometimes "hide their heads" from things they don't want to hear?

Engine cards
Each engine carries an ayah from Surah Al-Lail. Cut them out and couple the carriages behind them.

Carriage cards
Cut along the dashed lines. If a word needs the same carriage twice, make a second copy.

For the grown-up: one train, four stations
About ten minutes. There is no score: a wrong try is just part of the ride.
1. Inspire
Lay the train out on the floor or table. Count the carriages together and ask: Why do people sometimes "hide their heads" from things they don't want to hear?
2. Investigate
Mix up the carriages. Your child couples them behind the right engine, starting next to the engine.
3. Integrate
Open the mushaf at Surah Al-Lail and find each word in its ayah. Read the meaning of the ayah together.
4. Impart
Swap roles: your child is the conductor and shows you a card. You read it, and they check you. Then stamp the ticket.
